          Educational Technology

          Moving Toward the Future
Educational Technology provides an integral connection
between instructional practice in the classroom and the
technology impacting students. Currently, the focus is
building a personalized learning experience for teachers
and students. We are adapting how instruction is taking
place in the classroom by embracing the technologies
that students have available to them in the modern world.
As we work on providing digital learning opportunities
for all students, we have fostered environments where
students are creating, communicating, collaborating and
thinking critically to solve problems. The programs we have
developed and provided for teachers build skills or device
fluency and apply software knowledge to lessons.

                                      Technology Support

                                      Working as a Team
Everything involving Educational Technology and Student Assessment is supported by
the work done in the Technology Services Department. OUSD’s network supports over
30,000 digital instructional tools from a combination of District-owned and Bring Your Own
Devices (BYOD) per day. OUSD has invested heavily in the network infrastructure to provide
a safe and robust computing environment to support the classroom of the future. At the
end of the 2015-16 school year, all district sites will be connected by a private fiber-optic
network supporting 10Gbps of data bandwidth. These investments increases both speed
and reliability in the network infrastructure, directly translating into more interactive apps
and robust multi-media content for students.
