Sycamore Teacher Paul Flores Awarded $5,000 in
Technology from “Helpful Honda Dealers”
ORANGE, CA — May 8, 2015 — Fifth grade Sycamore Elementary School teacher Paul Flores was surprised with $5,000 worth of classroom technology by the “Helpful Honda Dealers” during a school wide assembly yesterday. He is one of five teachers in Southern California chosen to be honored during Teacher Appreciation Week.
“Mr. Flores is one of the most caring teachers I have encountered in my entire career in education,” said Principal Heather Bosworth, who worked with the Honda Corporation to plan the surprise. “He goes above and beyond the typical classroom duties, not just for the good of his own students but also for the greater good of the whole school and community.”
During Sycamore’s Teacher Appreciation Week assembly, each teacher was called to receive a certificate of recognition for their hard work throughout the year. When Mr. Flores was called to receive his award, the Helpful Honda Crew came out from hiding to surprise him with 10 iPads and an iPad charging cart for his classroom.
