Three Assistant Principals Appointed to OUSD High Schools
ORANGE, CA – June 16, 2016 – The Orange Unified School District (OUSD) Board of Education appointed Michael Lee, Nathan Garrett, and Scott Mazurier to the positions of Assistant Principals at Villa Park High School, Orange High School and Canyon High School, respectively, during the regular session of the Board Of Education Meeting on June 9, 2016.
Villa Park High School Assistant Principal
Michael Lee is currently the Assistant Principal at Cerro Villa Middle School and has served successfully in this role for the past three years. Prior to his assignment as Assistant Principal at Cerro Villa, Mr. Lee worked as a teacher and varsity tennis coach at Villa Park High School. Michael Lee holds a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from California State University, Fullerton, and a Master’s degree in Administration from Concordia University. He holds a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Physical Education and an Administrative Services Credential.
Orange High School Assistant Principal
Nathan Garrett comes to this position from his current assignment at El Modena High School where he is a teacher assigned to serve as an intervention specialist working with at-risk students. Previous to this assignment, Nathan had five years of experience as a special education teacher at the high school and middle school levels. Before coming to Orange Unified, Nathan worked as an elementary school teacher in the Irvine Unified School District. Nathan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Vanguard University and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Concordia University. He has a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, an Education Specialist Instructional Credential for Mild to Moderate Disabilities, and an Administrative Services Credential.
Canyon High School Assistant Principal
Scott Mazurier comes to the Orange Unified School District from his current position as a Resource Specialist and WASC Coordinator at Yorba Linda High School in the Placentia- Yorba Linda Unified School District. Mr. Mazurier has worked as a special education teacher in Placentia-Yorba Linda USD at both the high school and middle school levels since he began his teaching career there in 2006. His service has included work as a varsity head coach, an ASB class advisor, mentor teacher, and BTSA-Induction consulting teacher. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development from University of California, San Diego, and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from California State University, Fullerton. Scott Mazurier has an Education Specialist Instructional Credential for Mild to Moderate Disabilities and an Administrative Services Credential.
