OUSD Presents “Parent and Family Engagement Institute”
ORANGE, CA – September 12, 2016 – Orange Unified School District is pleased to offer a series of informational sessions for parents and families to become better acquainted with several of our best practices, strategies and resources that lead to student success.
Parents of Orange Unified School District students in elementary, middle, and high school are invited to attend this seven-week institute that includes modules designed to educate parents on topics including website navigation, State assessments, Thinking Maps, technology and internet safety, growth mindset, and pathways to college. There will be guest speakers with expertise on the topic each week and opportunities for parents to interact and ask questions. Parents are encouraged to bring their own mobile device to each session.
All modules will be held by the Office of Accountability and Special Programs at the Orange Unified School District offices at 1401 N. Handy Street from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Sessions will be conducted in English and Spanish and a limited number of electronic devices will be available to borrow every week. The first module begins on October 5, 2016. Subsequent modules are scheduled for October 12, October 19, October 26, November 2, November 9, and November 16.
