Chapman Hills Elementary School is located in East Orange near Newport and Jamboree. We currently have 505 students in grades Kindergarten through sixth grade. Chapman Hills opened its doors in the fall of 1991 and has built a very strong “family” culture since opening. Chapman Hills was awarded the California Distinguished School honor in 2014.
We currently have an API score of 915 (last reported in 2013) due to the strong academic program created and implemented by the staff at Chapman Hills as well as with the continued support of the parents and PTA. At Chapman Hills, all stakeholders are committed to providing ALL children with the best possible education both in the classroom and through enrichment opportunities. The students and teachers participate in our R.O.A.R (Reaching Outstanding Academic Redults) reading program daily, along with grouping students at their instructional level for success in math. Reading Counts! is another component that ensures success for all students. The students set Reading Counts! goals and work to achieve them as they make their way onto the Wall of Fame. Students are honored at our Bobcat Awards Assemblies and receive recognition and certificates for their successes in academics and character.
At Chapman Hills, students learn and model social responsibility through specific character traits at each grade level. All students model our motto “P.R.I.D.E.” (Personal Responsibility in Daily Effort), making Chapman Hills the great school that it is! All students work daily to show respect, consideration of others, and responsibility to ensure their success at school.
The mission of Chapman Hills Elementary School is to prepare our students for the 21st century by providing all students with the skills, knowledge, abilities, and attitudes necessary to reach their personal potential and function effectively as productive and contributing members of society within the context of a rapidly changing world.
