The mission of Running Springs Elementary School is to fully utilize all resources at our disposal including financial, personnel, and materials to provide the highest quality education possible. Decisions about the instructional program are based on student performance data including the California Standards Test and internal school wide measures. Collaborative decision making between staff and parents maximizes the power of the available resources, and benefits each child and the whole school as well. Challenging educational experiences are provided that incorporate curriculum and promote character development. Decisions regarding programs and implementation are made using information from current best practice research. Parents are included as an integral part of our school educational program, and are involved in many ways with their children’s education.

Running Springs Elementary School is one of thirty elementary schools in the Orange Unified School District. The school was established July of 1999.

Running Springs is located on the eastern edge of the Orange Unified School District in a growing area within the city of Anaheim. The school is situated in a newer residential area off Weir Canyon, and is across the road from Toyon Park. The school consists of thirty classrooms, eight portable classrooms, a multi-purpose building, and an administration building. The administration building contains offices, the staff lounge
and workroom, the computer lab and library. Running Springs’ school-wide computer
network allows students to access software, research tools and the Internet from every
computer in the school.

The Running Springs Elementary staff believes that every child is entitled to an outstanding instructional program within a safe and caring environment. It is our sincere belief that with the information in this School Accountability Report Card, you will become a knowledgeable member of the educational team and will assist us with our efforts to provide our children with an exceptional instructional program designed to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century.
