The District spends about $7 million annually on regular maintenance and repairs. In addition, 1.5% of the total
General Fund Expenditures or $4 million are allocated to cover deferred maintenance projects (roofs, parking lots,
painting, flooring, heating/cooling, restroom renovation, field improvements). School Districts no longer receive
matching funds from the state for the Deferred Maintenance Program, therefore General Fund monies are the only
source to address the most critical health and safety issues.
